What is APCM?

It is the Cerebral Palsy Association of Madeira, a private non-profit social solidarity institution, founded in April 1991. Its aim is the prevention, rehabilitation, participation, social inclusion, and family support of people with cerebral palsy and related conditions.

What services does APCM offer?

APCM provides a range of rehabilitation services, including: Physiotherapy, Hydrotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Music Therapy. It also has a Residential Facility and a Center for Activities and Skills Development for Inclusion (CACI).

Who is APCM’s support intended for?

APCM provides support to young people and adults with cerebral palsy and related conditions from the age of 18 onwards.

What types of support does APCM provide to its users?

Users attending the services of this institution benefit from the support of a multidisciplinary team that includes: Neuropediatrician, Internal Medicine Specialist, Psychologist, Social Work Technicians, Nursing Team, Physiotherapists, Speech Therapist, Socio-Cultural Animator, Nutritionist, Education Technician, Physical Education Teacher, EVT Teacher, and Direct Support Assistants.

Who are the beneficiaries of the support and services provided by APCM?

The beneficiaries of APCM are its users who attend the Residential Facility and the Center for Activities and Skills Development for Inclusion.

What is the Center for Activities and Skills Development for Inclusion (CACI)?

CACI is a social response provided by APCM that aims to support people with cerebral palsy and related conditions, promoting their social inclusion and skills development to the fullest. Currently, it supports 37 individuals of both genders.

Does APCM provide accommodation services?

Yes, APCM has a Residential Facility, intended for young adults with cerebral palsy and related conditions who are temporarily or permanently unable to live with their families. Currently, the facility supports 49 residents on a permanent basis and 1 on a rotating basis.
